How do I sign up for a course? Call our main office: 905.685.5591. Visit our office in person. (27 William Street in St. Catharines) How long is each class? The Driver Education Course consists of the following: 20 hours in class, 10 hours in car, 10 hours study time (for home completion of course workbook / studyguide) What will I learn? You will learn the latest defensive driving techniques, traffic laws, driving strategies, highway driving, strategies for driving in adverse conditions e.g. inclement weather and construction areas etc., how to handle emergency situations on the road, collision avoidance techniques, car maintenance, fuel-efficient driving, avoiding driving while distracted, and other lessons designed to help you become a safe, responsible, and confident driver. How much time do I spend in the car? Varies depending on individual proficiency. In-car lessons are one hour. Will there be other students in the car with me? No. We provide one-on-one in-car instruction. No distractions. No embarrassment. Just you and a qualified driving instructor. How do I pay for my course? Cash, debit, Visa, MC Do I have to pay in full? Upon registering, you will be required to pay a $50 deposit to secure your spot. In order to begin your in-car lessons, the balance must be paid in full. You are required to begin your in-car sessions within eight weeks of the completion of your in-class training. What documents do I need before I sign up? Must have valid G1 license issued by the MTO. What are G1 and G2 licenses? Ontario has a system of graduated licencing. This means there is a series of steps involved as you become an older and more experienced driver. More information here How much experience should I already have behind the wheel before I sign up? Although some students may have had practice driving a car, no experience is necessary. In fact, most of our students have never been behind the wheel! Do you provide pick-up and drop-off services? We provide pick-up and drop-off services for students in the city of City of St. Catharines How do group rates work for high school students? We provide a special rebate offer when five students from a single high school register for a course together. We take $10 of the tuition for each student and donate that money back to the school’s student council! After I complete the course, how do I apply for my licence? You will need to schedule a G1 exit road test with the MTO. Contact your local drive test centre. Can I use a school car for my road test? Yes, you can use a school car for your road test for an additional fee. Please contact the office 905.685.5591 for pricing and more information. What do I need to bring to the first class? Bring a pen, a notebook, and yourself. We provide text books and other driving related supplies. What happens if I miss a class? If you miss a class, we can re-schedule as needed. Adaptive equipment is specialized equipment designed to assist drivers with physical disabilities to operate a motor vehicle. |
